Stetson University Choir in Concert

Regarded as one of the finest undergraduate university choirs in the country, the highly selective 52-voice Stetson University Concert Choir is under the direction of Dr. Timothy Peter. The choir will share the stage with Boyd Jones, organ, Tammy Miller, piano, and Donovan Singletary, baritone. All three of these collaborating artists are graduates of the esteemed Stetson University School of Music. This concert marks the culmination of the choir’s 2014 East Coast Tour. Stetson University is a highly ranked private liberal arts institution located in DeLand, Florida. The School of Music is a vibrant community of approximately 200 exclusively undergraduate musicians and 47 faculty. Established in 1936, the School of Music was Florida's first collegiate music school celebrating a deep tradition and long history of excellence in choral singing and vocal artistry.

Selected choral works include compositions by Tallis, Stanford, Ives, Vaughan Williams and two new works by Kevin Isaacs and Jan Kindred

The program includes music in the sacred accapella tradition also including works for organ and choir and secular folk tunes.
