Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini helps Bill Murray’s character woo his love in Groundhog Day. Kirill Gerstein is the soloist. The program closes with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 11, The Year 1905, depicting the tragic lead-up to the Russian Revolution of 1905.
