Approaching six decades at the podium, Bernard Haitink conducts the renowned London Symphony Orchestra in Shostakovich’s Fourth Symphony, which waited a quarter century for its premiere in post-Stalin Russia. Preeminent pianist Emanuel Ax joins the orchestra for Mozart’s “Jenamy” Concerto, an astonishing break with Classical composition during Mozart’s time.
