Brahms: Violin Concerto
Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 ("Eroica")
The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Joshua Bell performed Mozart’s Overture to Le nozze de Figaro as an additional piece at the beginning of this program.
Joshua Bell, America’s most celebrated contemporary violinist, reassumes his dual role as soloist and conductor in an enchanting program with London’s Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. On offer are Brahms’s radiant Violin Concerto, one of the most formidable works of the Romantic era, and Beethoven’s quintessential “Eroica” Symphony, which ushered Romanticism into existence.
This program is supported by the Leon Levy Fund for Symphonic Masters.
Symphonic Masters is made possible in part by endowment support from UBS.
