Live From Lincoln Center presents
The 2012 Richard Tucker Opera Gala

Tune in to PBS on Thursday, December 13 at 8:00 pm*

In this passion-filled celebration of great voices, Olga Borodina, Marcello Giordani, Dmitri Hvorostovsky and opera’s leading lights come out to perform classic selections from La Traviata, Pagliacci, The Barber of Seville, and other opera favorites. Soprano Ailyn Pérez, winner of the 2012 Richard Tucker Award, performs a moving rendition of the “Cherry Duet” from L’amico Fritz with her husband Stephen Costello, winner of the 2009 Richard Tucker Award – the first time a husband and wife have ever shared this honor. Hosted by Audra McDonald, the program also offers an intimate profile of Ailyn Pérez, along with charming interviews and backstage moments with the performers, inviting us to go inside the world of opera as never before.
