Dvorák: Trio in E minor for Piano, Violin, and Cello, Op. 90, “Dumky” (1890–91)

Dvorák: Trio in F minor for Piano, Violin, and Cello, Op. 65 (1883)

Co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han are joined by long-time collaborator violinist Philip Setzer for an evening of beloved works by Dvorák and Brahms. An early champion of Dvorák, Brahms saw in the younger composer a kindred spirit, and encouraged him throughout his career. Brahms’ brooding E minor Cello Sonata complements Dvorák’s folk-tinged “Dumky” Trio and the great, heroic Trio in F minor.
